My fiance and I haven’t found a better TexMex restaurant anywhere in the North. They have excellent Margaritas, wonderful chips and salsa and the best mesquite grilled beef fajitas either of us has ever had. Everything at this restaurant is made fresh, with fresh ingredients. If you have kids, they’ll love watching the tortillas made as you wait for your table.

President and Laura Bush decided one night in January 2003, that it was time for a night out in Washington.


Shortly after 7 p.m. on January 15, 2003, they walked through the doors of the Cactus Cantina on Wisconsin Avenue NW and into a dining room filled with about 250 unsuspecting locals. Their table was near the back, away from the windows. She got the fajitas. He got the cheese enchilada.
